They run in my family and my mother got TONS when she was pregnant with me. (I was 9lb 10 oz) I took 200IU Vitamin E and 100mg Vitamin C in addition to my prenatal vitamins. My son was 10 lbs and I walked away with out a single stretch mark. I think going after the stretch marks fron the inside can help prevent them more effectively than any expensive cream on the market. I am expecting again early next year, and I am going with the same routine, since it worked for me the first time.

Overall Rating

Not Rated

I'm generally not a lotion person - it just seems like too much work.

In my second pregnancy I've had some really itchy skin on my belly and breasts and my mother bought me the Made from Earth Aloe & Jojoba Creme Therapy (as posted by MT above) for me to try. It has eliminated my itchy skin (though it returns the next day if I don't use the lotion).

My stretch marks seem to be lighter, but I suppose that's probably due to the fact that they're more moisturized than usual.

The scent is pleasant and the texture is wonderful. It's not greasy or overwhelming in any way, but it is nice and thick. I'm someone who struggles with the decision to buy a $4 bottle of Curel, but I'll absolutely pay $25 for a tube of the Made from Earth Aloe Therapy.

Overall Rating

Not Rated

I was obsessed with the Made from Earth Aloe & JOJOBA CREME I was pregnant! I started using it around 3 months and kept with it everyday until my son was born (and a bit beyond). Its 100% chemical free with no fragrance, is made from wonderful ingredients, feels amazing on your skin, and best of all...no stretch marks!

I thought I would be prone to them, since I have others on my hips and thighs from teenage years, but not a one appeared during pregnancy. It is a bit pricey, but a little goes a long way. I applied very liberally, 1-2 times a day and used almost 4 bottles during my whole pregancy.

Very well worth it if you are looking to avoid stretch marks, and if you are a healthy mom who refuses to use chemicals in your skincare products...

Overall Rating

Not Rated

There was only one study done, back in 1991, that shows that any ingredients can reduce your chance of getting stretchmarks. That combination of ingredients are Gotu Kola, Vitamin E, and Collagen Hydrolysates.

My OB told me about the Elasticity Oil from Belli, as it is the only brand that uses these effective ingredients-AND the only brand that doesn't contain ingredients linked to birth defects as they teratology screen everything.

I don't know why anyone would use anything else.
