How To Get Rid of Cellulite Through Working Out – A Proven Plan

Cellulite is a harmless, yet annoying, condition that affects roughly 90% of women at sometime during their life. Although many people think it does, obesity has nothing to do with cellulite. This misconception comes from the fact that many of the same factors that lead to weight gain also lead to the development of cellulite. However, men and women of all shapes and sizes are plagued by this condition. While there is no “cure” for cellulite time, and technology, has given us many options to reducing the appearance of these unsightly lumps and bumps.

Of all the non-surgical techniques to remove or reduce the appearance of cellulite, researchers agree that exercise is by far the most effective. This is because a sedentary lifestyle is often thought of as the most common cause of the condition. These exercises are very specific to the regions of the body that the conditions effects and many of them are seriously intense muscle building exercises. This is because the way to a cellulite free body is to sculpt and tone. Remember cellulite is basically trapped fat, and sculpting and toning the body will help burn some of this fat off by building muscle.

There are several products, or programs, available online to help you adopt the correct exercise techniques. However, let’s not forget that cellulite is a very common condition, and if you already have a gym membership a trainer at the gym can tell you exactly which exercises will help with the condition. Going to the gym and asking the trainer there for advice and guidance, will save you the cost of a “cellulite program” but, many of these programs come with very helpful diets that are high in protein. This anti-cellulite diet will help you get most out of your workout.

Of course if building muscle isn’t really your thing you can reduce the appearance of your cellulite in a more lady like way…Cardio. Put on your exercise outfits and head out to spin class. A good cardio workout is a nice way to keep your body, mind, and organs in check. The cardio workout will reduce the appearance of cellulite in the same way as the toning/muscle building, it just may take a little longer to get the desired results.

No matter which route you decide to go, the gym or the privacy of your own home, exercise is a great way to reduce the appearance of cellulite. Reducing the appearance of cellulite, and developing a leaner more sculpted body, will give you the confidence you need to wear that bathing suit to the beach, or feel a little cooler this summer in a nice pair of shorts. The really fantastic thing is reducing the appearance of your cellulite and possibly losing a little weight will make you feel GREAT inside and out!

More On Exercises That Reduce Cellulite

Exercise should be an important part of one’s routine. To skip exercise means to allow your body to waste away and accumulate toxins which can impede its healthy functioning. The body fluids get clogged owing to lack of exercise. Then you might say, how do I get rid of cellulite. Exercises to get rid of cellulite are a natural remedy. However, this doesn’t mean that one should do strenuous exercise as that would be overexerting your body. It could result in muscle and ligament tears and lead to the reverse of the desired effect. The best exercise to get rid cellulite is walking.

Walking

The muscles needed to be sufficiently active before the cellulite can be affected in any way. Therefore walking and deep breathing are two exercises to get rid of cellulite naturally. If your medical practitioner feels that your cellulite needs treatment, then you must start exercising in addition walking as a part of your daily routine. These exercises however need to be discussed with a practitioner beforehand. Some of the suggested exercises are jogging on the spot till you are a little out of breath. There are quite a few other exercises that are done by people who are trying to get rid of cellulite. It’s always best to get your schedule from an instructor who will know exactly which areas need more cellulite treatment.

Certain precautions need to be undertaken while doing these exercises to get rid of cellulite. This routine is to be followed as soon as you get out of bed. Comfortable clothes should be worn while exercising, and the place where you exercise should be well ventilated. Once you begin, make sure that there is no kind of pain caused while you are exercising. If there is pain it means that something is wrong. You must stop immediately.

Use Intense Cardio to Erase Cellulite

To Burn off the cellulite FASTER consider doing more intense cardio exercise.  Try doing a Spin class at the gym.  Running is also a very important.  Try running at a pace that is around a level 6-8….Ideally when you are running or jogging you MUST be able to hold a conversation or else you are working out too hard.  Now wait you ask “isn’t this the point NO PAIN NO GAIN???”  No because you work out above a certain threshold you are changing your cardio workout from a aerobic exercise (with oxygen) to a anaerobic workout.  What this really means is that instead of burning fat with a aerobic exercise you will be creating lactic acid with the anaerobic workout thus your body will hold onto the fat to protect itself from this acid.  Bottom line you will want to exercise intensely but be able at all time to hold a conversation (ie aerobically meaning with oxygen)

Use Strength Training to Burn Cellulite

Any serious workout to get rid of cellulite MUST contain strength training.  Why? simply put the cardio will help burn some fat while exercising but MUSCLE will constantly burn FAT 24/7.  This means that building your muscle up will naturally speed up your metabolism, create more demand for the fat to convert to feed the muscles in your body.  But Wait Diva … I don’t want to look like Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Relax.  Its is when you work out your goal will be to convert your fat into muscle.  You will want to do HIGH Reps versus Low Reps.  What this means is that you will want to 12-15 reps with lighter weight to build up your muscles.

Here is Diva’s Cellulite Buster Workout Plan.

Do this minimum 3 times a week.  You must dedicate an hour for each work out.

1. Warm Up!!!! – Jog or Bike or Walk Fast for at least 10 minutes. – This is important as starts your body on a Aerobic Workout.

2. Squat – Your Legs contain the largest muscles in the body so you MUST start here.  I recommend starting out with a dumbbell squat till you are ready to do a squat with a bar.  See this excellent tutorial on the squat.

3. Dumbbell Chest – This is also target another large muscle group.  This is also good for Triceps which are cellulite proned.  See this Excellent Tutorial on how to do a Dumbbell Press.

4. Lat Pull Down – This targets the different muscle group of the back.  Here again is how you do it.

5. Dumbbell Overhead Press – This is good for the shoulders.  See how to do it here:

6. Tricep Pushdown – The triceps again are Cellulite Prone. This exercise is perfect for that.  See how to do it here:

7.  Leg Extension Press – This weight training exercise targets the Quadriceps. See how to do it here:

Now I recommend to do each of the 7 exercises in a circuit training style meaning that you do 2 sets of each exercise with 12-15 reps each with light weight.  You should only rest no more than 30 seconds between each set.  After the 2nd set you must immediately move on to the next exercise.

Now do this circuit training at least 2 times to see the desired effect.

Cellulite Creams

Cellulite creams are another popular remedy to get rid of cellulite. If you want to know how they function then read on… Cellulite creams depend upon collagen a great deal to, effectively combat cellulite. This is because collagen being a natural protein aids in the firming and toning the skin. Anti inflammatory and anti oxidant ingredients are another must have constituent in these creams because they aid blood flow.

There is a variety of creams available in the market to treat cellulite. Their ingredients vary and so does the effect they have on different body. One needs to be patient while beginning any new treatment because this can take anywhere between 3-15 weeks to show visible effect. Yet, most people prefer exercises to get rid of cellulite in a natural way. However, this doesn’t mean that cellulite creams have adverse aftereffects. I can’t believe you think that is an excellent tutorial on the squat!!!!!
That squat would get a score of 0 on the FMS – making that person at risk for injury and lacking total mobility!!!! Which is what most Americans score – check out 3rd world people – they squat for hours in a full range of motion position….

The Squat should awlays travel through full range of motion – all the way down all the way up. Check out Funciotnal Movement Screen or Athletes Performance…. You are probably going off the Klein study done years ago that has been negated through Bill Star’s research to why the study was flawed and inconclusive. Properly performed deep knee squats are essential for the joint’s health and mobility. THe key is properly performed…

And you should always train – heavy weight low reps to lean out – instead of bulk up…

The creams are overated! Cardio minimum 4 times per week, and combined this with a strength/conditioning workout. Maybe in the form of a circuit.
Jessica, at fifteen your body is still growing so as long as you have a healthy eating plan (and i dont mean dieting) and maintain an active lifestyle, you should be right.

Anonymous, i have to disagree. A deep knee squat is dangerous for the knee joint. You can do other strengthening exercises to increase strength and mobility of the joint. Anything past 90 degrees and you put a lot of strain on the knee. Secondly, heavy weight-low reps is for power, to lean out you need to focus on low weight high reps for strength and conditioning.

I have been trying to burn cellulite for a while and it is very hard. Weight loss seems to be hard to maintain as well. But on average I work-out 30 to 50 mins cardo 6 times a week and weight training 30 to 40 min 3 to 4 times a week. Still results are difficult for thighs and butt but everywhere else is awesome. I think target areas need to be worked on more as a solution but maybe some creams and doing higher reps with strength training for those target areas will be best. Got to feel the burn!

dearest N. Dont worry about how you THINK others feel about you. Its only a guess on your part anyway. Let it go. It sounds like you want to change. Can I make a suggestion? Start by changing the way you talk to yourself in your head. Dont put yourself down. Be kind to yourself! replace put downs with how you are going to make things change…..and while you practice that, GO AND GET FIT!! Enjoy the confidence you get when you see your muscles firming up, your body changing shape, and the release of endorphins you get after a group fitness class. Forget the boys for just 6 months (please try this), and focus on happy thoughts about yourself instead. Give yourself a chance to become the person you want to be. It takes time and regular work, but it gets easier the longer you stick at it. Good luck ! xxx

i have cellulite and i dont really think anything to get rid of it but it is very refreshing to do lots of cardio and drink lots of water

At least 20 minute cardio, running and cycle class is excellent to target those stubborn areas. I also do the Brazlian Butt Lift by Leonardo Carvalho’s. I’m on my second round and already can see a dramatic differnce. And alot of strength training. SQUAT SQUAT SQUAT!!! If your’e determined and stay focused it’ll work!

I used the Jacobs Ladder workout machine the other day at the gym. That is a killer workout for you legs and glutes! Guaranteed to burn that cellulite off doing that workout 30minutes a day 5 times a week!

Hi, I’m 19 years old with only a very petite figure but unfortunately I suffer with cellulite. I have it quite bad in my upper thigh and bum and I’m starting to gain it in my stomach. It makes me feel so self conscious and I won’t feel confident until it has reduced dramatically. I’m in university so unfortunately I don’t have time to go the gym, could anyone give me the best way of reducing it? :)

Honey when I was at college there were at least 8 gyms on campus and free to use for students. I think for someone so young, there’s really no excuses to not working out 30 minutes a day. Heck even walking from class to class was a workout for me. Creams and diets can help but I suspect for you working out will be your best bet.

I bet there are lot of cute boys in those gyms too. Get to the gym!!!! :D

I have been exercising for over a year now4-5 times a week. 3 spin classes and 2 Zimbabwe classes. Weights 2 times a week too. I have not lost anymore weight but am getting more compliments. I notice that I have more cellulite on Mt upper thighs

Im 19 years old. . I suffered from cellulite ever since I was 16. I work , go to school , and drop and pick up my daughter frm daycare. My only free days are sat and Sunday. I feel like I never have the time to exercise . . Any advice on what I can do to get rid of the cellulite on my thighs ???

What about the eliptical machine? Will it help remove cellulite from your legs and butt? That is where I have the most problems. None at all on my stomach but I am most devinately Pear Shaped. My legs are absolutely discusting, I’m not joking, they are very lumpy. I haven’t wore shorts since I was 17 and I even had a little of it then but was thin! I’m 29 now and losing weight, working out etc. I love to use the eliptical. Do you guys think that will help?
