That squat would get a score of 0 on the FMS - making that person at risk for injury and lacking total mobility!!!!  Which is what most Americans score - check out 3rd world people - they squat for hours in a full range of motion position....

The Squat should awlays travel through full range of motion - all the way down all the way up.  Check out Funciotnal Movement Screen or Athletes Performance....  You are probably going off the Klein study done years ago that has been negated through Bill Star&#039;s research to why the study was flawed and inconclusive.  Properly performed deep knee squats are essential for the joint&#039;s health and mobility.  THe key is properly performed...

And you should always train - heavy weight low reps to lean out - instead of bulk up...</description>
