Stretch Mark Solutions - The Secret Revealed
4 Stretch Mark Creams Reviewed - Which one wins?
Hi! Do you Suffer from Stretch Marks? Are you looking for a way to prevent stretch marks from forming?
Then today’s blog post is for you.
We are going to talk about Stretch Mark Treatments to review which ones work and what to avoid. Like a rubber band that has snapped when pulled to far, Stretch Marks occur when the skin is extended to the breaking point. Usually the result of hormonal changes in pregnancy or some other dramatic increase in weight or height, Stretch Marks appear when skin literally tears apart in the middle epidermal layer.
What not to look for!
On this point, my main advice is DON’T GET SCAMMED! If you’re dead set on buying some kind of Stretch Mark Cream or treatment, then Take 2 minutes and read this article — we will enlighten you and save you from wasting your money.
There are many web sites that are selling Stretch Mark Creams, and they’ll likely push the product that makes them the most money - or they’ll rate it #1 because of that reason — when behind the scenes, it’s only #1 in terms of making money for them.
Do you really want to trust them?
Read this review and order whatever you want directly from the manufacturer. I have included links to the manufacturers websites.
The Recent Buzz on Stretch Mark Creams
You’re here because you’re looking for Stretch Mark Treatments that work, right? You don’t want to waste your money, do you? Good… so read on.
Many of my readers have lost weight over the years or have gotten Pregnant and have asked me what I recommend to prevent stretch marks or even erase their current stretch marks … and FAST. Nobody wants any ugly scarring of the skin that they didn’t have before.
So what should a person do?
The big buzz as of late in the skin care circles have been treatments that help support and repair the collagen in the Skin. Collagen if you not aware of is the support infrastructure for you skin.
It’s very different from older stretch mark treatments that only moisturize the skin. The new stretch mark treatments go beyond moisturizing. Dermatologist say the key to stretch marks is supporting and repairing the collagen that you have.
The second thing to look for in a stretch mark treatment is the ability to repair or strengthen the elastin fibres in the skin. Elasticity is what gives the skin the ability to flex or stretch. Weak elastin fibres will tear. What you want is to support healthy elastin-rich tissues in the skin so you can prevent the stretch marks from forming in the first place
Technically stretch marks are scars, but I’m not going to go into a lot of detail here about what Stretch Marks are and its basis in Science - you can research that on your own if you want.
You are here looking for solutions, so what I am going to do is show you results from many months of testing stretch mark creams, on real people… clients, friends and people I know, and let you decide if these treatments are for you.
Why did I do the study?
As you probably already know, I work in a hair and skin salon, so I do a lot of facials, waxings and other skin treatments on my clients. I have the pleasure of meeting all kinds of great people in the salon - those with fabulously great skin, and those that need a lot of help.
Many of my friends and people that I know asked me about what works with stretch marks, and many were going to try various creams regardless of what I told them, so I asked if I could document their results.
I actually had over 10 people on some kind of Stretch Mark treatment last year. Some of the products they used ranged from traditional cocoa butter to organic home remedies but I’m only going to cover a few of them here right now that we saw great results with.
The two results you are about to see are what I consider pretty inspiring. They followed every word I said and achieved spectacular results. They have also given me permission to post their photos and their story:
Rose’s Story
Rose was one our best test cases in the prevention of Stretch Marks and the inspiration behind today’s post.
Rose was 2 months pregnant with her first child and was really worried about getting stretch marks because her mom had gotten stretch mark in her pregnancy. Rose was a client of mine and I have done many exfoliating and skin care treatments on her so having great skin was very important.
When Rose first came to me she was literally sobbing because her OBGYN told her that stretch marks were hereditary and there was nothing that she could do.
I usually have a belief there is always a way to make anything happen so when people tell me “You Can’t” do something that usually gets my blood boiling.
Anyways back to Rose… We did some research on different Stretch Mark Prevention Creams and we decided to use Palmer’s Cocoa Butter to try and keep the skin taught and firm and plus we heard some good things about it.
In the beginning we saw some initial good results. However Rose started noticing some ugly stretch marks (see photo A) forming in her belly so we decided to switch to Plan B.

We started using the Revitol line of Skin Care products and specifically the Revitol Stretch Mark Prevention Cream. After a few weeks Rose noticed the stretch marks that were forming were diminishing.
Around the 8 month of her Pregnancy the results were pretty dramatic as you can see from the Picture B.

Peggy’s Story
Peggy was one tough cookie when it came to her stretch marks. She was very overweight when she was a teenager and in her 20’s. Then a few years ago she lost over 60 pounds in a rigorous 4 month fitness and dietary boot camp.
Even though Peggy was happy about the weight loss, the rapid weight loss resulted in stretch marks in and around her stomach and butt.
Peggy searched for some kind of solution over the past couple of years and she thought about giving up on finding any that would work when I started this test….and needless to say she didn’t have any hope at all.
You can see in the photo below that Peggy started the test her stretch marks were not pretty to say the least, (Are there any stretch marks that are pretty?)

After doing some research we decided to try out a Stretch Mark Cream called TriLastin from EC Research. We used the cream through out a 6 month period and the results were pretty promising.
You can see in the photo below that Peggy’s stretch marks were visibly reduced from when we started the test. Not only were the stretch marks less apparent than before, Peggy was very happy with the results.

THE FINAL RESULTS:
I ran tests on 10 different people, all with varying degrees of success. Of the four Stretch Mark products we tested, the results were pretty unanimous:
1st Place: Revitol Stretch Mark Prevention - www.Revitol.com
2nd Place: (Very Close) EC Research’s TriLastin- www.TriLastin.com
3rd Place: (Very Good) Stretta - www.Zenmed.com

beautybabe Says:
How do the stretch marks creams work for darker skin types?
Diva Says:
Yes one of my clients who has a very dark complexion saw very good results in our test. Specifically my client was African American with a light mocha shade skin color. In the test we used the Revitol product in her skin care regimen.
elizabeth Says:
Help i am 34 yrs i have white scars,on my stomach and butt, i tried all products never worked. i what to erase them off please help they are 20 yrs old. Depressed!!!!
Diva Says:
Elizabeth ~ People feel depressed when they feel like they have no hope. When you have no hope you believe you don’t have any options for the situation you are confronted with. There are options for the stretch marks you have.
Could you explain your skin care regimen you were using when you were first treating your stretch marks? Which products were you using? How long did you use each product?
In the severest cases there are cosmetic surgery options that will work but usually I only recommend this option after exhausting all other treatments first. Most of my clients will respond with the treatments listed above and the manufacturers have a time period where you can return the product for a full refund if you are not satisfied.

What can I do for the skin on my legs to look smooth and not full of noticeable big pores from shaving?
Diva Says:
Waxing is the best option but if you can’t afford it or don’t have time then use a sponge to clean and exfoliate your legs before you shave.
Here are some tips on exfoliating:
1. Try showering first before shaving your legs. Brush dry skin before getting into the shower. You can use either a loofah, exfoliating gloves or a body exfoliating brush. Start at the soles of the feet and work your way up.
2. Get into the bath or shower and wet your legs.
3. Apply exfoliating cleanser to your loofah or exfoliating brush or gloves.
4. Scrub your legs with it, using gentle, circular motions.
5. Opt for grainy types of cleansers to clean the skin, rather than soap. Choose exfoliating cleansers that contain ingredients such as oatmeal, ground almonds or even sea salt. The grainy texture exfoliates the skin.
6. Make your own exfoliating cleanser, if you prefer. Mix sea salt, olive oil and lemon juice together, or mix ground almonds and powdered milk. The combinations are endless.
7. Use a washcloth for mild exfoliation.
8. Rub rough spots in your legs, such as heels, with a pumice stone or stick.
9. Be sure to use moisturizers at least once every day. Regular exfoliating is extremely drying to the skin and will do more harm than good unless the skin is rehydrated liberally with lotions.
SL and DF Says:
how long does it take to work again?
Diva Says:
With the treatments I listed above, you will start seeing results after the second or third week and becoming more apparent after the fifth week and sixth week. The key is to be patient while diligently using the treatment in your skin care regimen.
waiting Says:
So you think trilastin sr will be a best buy if you have stretch marks on your knees
Diva Says:
Yes Trilastin will be a good option for you. BodyBuilders who have stretch marks in and around their joint areas similar to you have been know to use Trilastin with good results. Let me know how it goes for you. Can you post to the blog to let everyone else know your results? Thx!

oh i forgot and am also very dark…
Diva Says:
Hopeless ~ Have you started or taken any action on your stretch marks? If so can you write back and give details on your Skin Care Regimen?
The Revitol and Trilastin line of stretch marks will be a good option for you if you have Darker Skin.
I used Revitol on one client of mine with Darker Skin. Results were good. Also Trilastin will be effective as well.
Even though your skin has more pigmentation then a lighter skin person, the same mechanics in the treatments to reduce Stretch Marks works the same for all skin types.
tired of looking Says:
i just really need something that will work this time because i’ve spent so much buying stretchmark creams. i have darkere skin. do you think i should go for revitol or trilastin? of course i wanna save to you know.
RITA Says:
TIRED - DONT FRET GIRL - I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AND MY SKIN IS A NICE MOCHA COLOR AND I HAVE STRETCH MARKS TOO. I BROUGHT REVITOL BACK IN MARCH AND I HAVE TO SAY, I THOUGHT IT WASNT WORKING BUT THEN AFTER A FEW MONTHS I ALMOST CRIED WHEN I NOTICED THE RESULTS. IMAGINE UGLY STRETCH MARKS ON MY STOMACH AND LEGS I NEVER THOUGHT THERE WOULD BE A PRODUCT THAT WOULD HELP ME OUT LIKE THIS. WHEN MY MARKS STARTED TO CHANGE, I WAS LIKE OH MY GOD!! I COULD SEE THE STRETCH MARKS GO RIGHT BEFORE MY EYES. I RAN AROUND MY HOUSE SO HOPEFUL ABOUT THIS BREAKTHROUGH. ITS BEEN A MONTH NOW, AND MY MARKS ARE TWO SHADES LIGHTER. THEY ARENT LIGHTENED 100%, BUT I AM CONFIDENT TO SAY IM HALF WAY THERE. THANK YOU REVITOL. WITHOUT YOU I WOULD STILL BE WEARING HOT A@# JEANS ALL SUMMER LONG.
Edit: Diva - I wasn’t going to post this because I usually don’t like posting comments in all CAPS and posting anything profane but it’s a nice story so please don’t post in caps or use profane language.
DS Says:
I was wondering if you had checked out another product called StriPetin? Do you think that’s ok to use too?
Diva Says:
Hi DS I haven’t heard anything good or bad about that product so I can’t recommend it at this time. I will add it to my list of products to try with my clients and I post the results once I tested it.
gabby Says:
Hi, I was wondering what i should use for my stretch marks on my stomach. My stretch marks aren’t that bad, they surround my belly button and i have a little loose skin around my belly button as well. I have used sti- vectin and that didnt really seem to help. currently i am applying vitamin e directly on the stretch marks and it seems to be helping.I am thinking about buying nourish skin firming lotion for the wrinkles on my stomach. I am a mother of two and a size zero and i would love to show my stomach again. Do you have any other suggestions?
Diva Says:
Hi Gabby ~ Vitamin E is definitely important component for any effective Stretch Mark solution. Both Trilastin and Revitol which we have seen good results from contain Vitamin E or Vitamin E variant.
michelle Says:
hi im 28 years old and im going to be amother of three im due in january o8 i have strech marks on my stomch in side of my legs and but its making me loos confidce in my self can you help me.
Diva Says:
Hi Michelle ~ Some of your Stretch Marks will go away after you give birth, but the key right now is for you TAKE ACTION and prevent any new stretch marks from forming as your skin around your stomach is only going to get more stretched.
I would recommend using a prevention cream that will help your skin as it is expanding due to Pregnancy.. Revitol has a good prevention cream… Also try to stay well hydrated (Hydrated skin will stretch easier), drink plenty of water and try to eat foods that are alive like big salads, cucumbers etc…but I know it’s hard to eat anything sensible when you are pregnant.
But again you must take action today or the Stretch Marks are just going to get worse.
Amy Says:
Hey Diva, I’m a teenager with quite a bit of stretch marks around my hips, thighs, and butt. As of right now they are silvery white since they’re about 2-3 years old. They look horrible, and they’re very embarrassing. I have tried palmers cocoa butter massage cream for stretch marks, and it hasnt done anything other than make those areas smoothe as if it was just a moisturizing lotion. I have been using it for about 2 weeks now and i still dont see any change. Which products would you highly recommend for me, and are there any steps or routines to using them? (example: exfoliating first, and then use the recommended creams you have suggested etc.) Hope to hear from you soon, thanks.
Diva Says:
Hi Amy ~ Great Question. It is definitely a good idea to exfoliate first before applying any lotion to your skin first so that your skin can get the maximum absorption.
The products that I list here I would recommend to try. Do realize it will take some time to see results so be patient!!!
Hopeless:( Says:
thanx diva…i will try the Revitol or TriLastin and get back to you on the progress on my stretch marks. thank you!
Diva Says:
Good to hear from you Hopeless… remember be patient!
Judy W. Says:
Help!! My 12 year old daughter has purple stretch marks on her calves, thighs, breasts, back and posterior end! She is not fat and they suddenly appeared and she is so upset and embarassed. The dermatologist gave us some samples of retin A but it does not seem to be working. What do you suggest??
Diva Says:
Hi Judy,
Your teenager is probably going through growth spurts right now. Just like in pregnancy where sudden growth can tax the skin..the main thing right now is to minimize the scarring and help the skin become more elastic.
Hydration will help. Diet too will be key. Also use a prevention lotion like Revitol to help with the scarring.
Retin A might help although we never used it so I can not say for sure.
Kay Says:
I have stretch marks on the back of my knees, around the iner and outer sides of my thighs, and on my butt. Also I have knee scars and scars from chicken pox. Will one of the creams work for me? I am also a light skinned afro american. I would love anything in the world to wear dresses and bathing suits with even skinned toned legs. what would you suggest? (could I use the cream to lighten the dark spots)?
Rita Says:
Hi Kay,
I can only speak myself but I had good results with Revitol, but it will take time to see. My skin is a mocha color if that helps
D Says:
hi i have had stretch marks for 15 years. Since giving birth to my 1st child. I now have 3 children and it seemed the more pregnancies the more stretch marks i have gotten. I don’t know what to do to get rid of them. I am not trying hollywood stretch mark cream. I have tried palmers but not on a daily basis. Please help me erase these ugly things.
JJ Says:
D.- I have stretchmarks too after having 2 kids over 4 years ago… I tried palmers and didn’t really see a difference. Im useing trilastin right now and its been a couple of months I’m seeing some changes so Im hopeful…
melissa Says:
Hi everyone. “Hopeless” we are in the same boat.
I am also dark with extreme stretch marks. It actually made me feel depressed today so i did a Google search for “stretch mark cures” Then I happened to stumble upon this site and would like to say that I really appreciate the study you guys have done! It has given me some hope, especially since i previously bought Trilastin but had become discouraged and stopped using it. I would definitely have to give it a try again. Thanks! PS. if anyone needs someone that can relate (sometimes i do) just leave a post.
Diva Says:
Melissa - thanks for the kind words. I hope this blog post is helpful to you guys
My only question is which trilastin did you use and how long did you use it?
When we did the test we used the latest formulation (there have been 2 formulations that I know of) which has worked better then the previous formula. Also how long did you use it? It’s not uncommon that people will use it for a week and not notice the changes and give up.
Let us know and post back to us!!
